There are no entry requirements for this qualification. 

*While there are no pre-requisites for this course, participants must take the language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) assessment. This will help us identify areas where you might need additional support during your studies.

What you need before starting the course

To undertake this course, you will need: 

  • A computer with internet access and a web browser.  
  • A regular access to a reliable internet connection and an email address.  
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader and/or Adobe Flash Player.
  • A mobile device (e.g. Mobile phone) capable of recording short videos at your workplace with a supervisor. 
  • To begin this course, you will need a USI. For more information on USI, go to: www.usi.gov.au It is a government requirement that participants undertaking Nationally Recognised Training in Australia have a unique student identifier (USI). 

Course cost

  • Government funding may be available for eligible participants in Tasmania and NSW.
  • If you are not eligible for government funding the course can be delivered as a Fee for Service program across all States. We can organise a payment plan with you to cover the cost of the course.

Employer obligations

  • Release trainee from work to undertake formal training, learning, and/or assessment activities during work hours. (For example, in NSW, the minimum is 3 hours per week averaged over 4-week period (pro rata for part-time apprentices/trainees).
  • Participate in regular assessments and evaluations of the trainee’s progress with the RTO.
  • Assign a qualified supervisor or mentor to guide the trainee.
  • Providing the trainee with appropriate facilities, resources to support training
  • Ensure the trainee understands and complies with workplace safety protocols.
  • Pay the trainee according to the agreed wage or stipend.
  • Maintain records of the trainee’s hours worked and performance evaluations. 
  • Report any issues or changes in the trainee’s status to the relevant training authority and training provider.
