Workforce Australia - Employability Skills Training

The Employability Skills Training is a program for Participants aged 15 years and over, providing you with highly personalised, pre-employment training.

Employability Skills Training gives you the opportunity to enhance your employability through three different programs. You can choose to participate in all programs on offer.

You will understand the expectations of employers in both the recruitment process and as a new employee in the workplace. 

In each program, you will receive a total of 75 hours of support. Full-time programs are 25 hours per week over three weeks. Part-time programs are 15 hours per week over five weeks.

EST Fees Policy  

As per the Workforce Australia provider correspondence sent out by the Department, starting from Monday, 14 August 2023, there will be a change in our policy regarding the charges for referrals to Employability Skills Training Block 2 courses.   

Under the new guidelines, Workforce Australia Services Providers will be able to claim a charge of up to $300 per participant for referrals to Employability Skills Training Block 2. This charge can be claimed under the Activity Costs category of the program. 

We will resume our invoicing of the $300 participant contribution fee to Referring Providers when they refer their participants into our EST Block 2 courses effective from the above date.  

If a referred participant is deemed unsuitable for the course, we will not charge the $300 participant contribution fee. 

We will not charge the $300 participant contribution fee if we had to cancel the activity prior to course commencement.  

Eligibility

You may be eligible to enrol in the program if you are:

  • Aged 15 years and over, and
  • Engaged in either Workforce Australia Services, Workforce Australia Online, Transition to Work or Disability Employment Services.
