There are no entry requirements for this qualification. 

*While there are no pre-requisite for this course, participants must take the language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) assessment. This will help us identify areas where you might need additional support during your studies.

Work Placement

This course includes 120 hours of practical work placement. This hands-on experience helps you develop the real-world skills necessary for the industry and supports ongoing learning and assessment in the workplace.

What you need before starting the course

To undertake this course, you will need:

  • A computer with internet access and a web browser.
  • A regular access to a reliable internet connection and an email address
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader and/or Adobe Flash Player.
  • A mobile device (e.g. Mobile phone) capable of recording short videos at your workplace with a supervisor.
  • Before starting work placement, you must provide (requirements vary according to host employer policies):
    • Police check
    • Working with Vulnerable Persons (WWVP) clearance
    • Provide Proof of vaccinations, as required by the workplace facility. It can be easily downloaded from the 'MyHealth' record." 
  • You will need a USI. It is a government requirement that participants undertaking Nationally Recognised Training in Australia have a unique student identifier (USI). For more information on USI, go to: usi.gov.au

Course Cost

  • Government funding may be available for eligible participants in Tasmania
  • If you are not eligible for government funding the course can be delivered as a Fee for Service program across all States. We can organise a payment plan with you to cover the cost of the course.
