Today marks a major milestone for the team at PeoplePlus.
We will now deliver services for Disability Employment Services as well as expanded services for the ParentsNext program. Our Nationally Recognised Training Organisation, AETS (Australian Employment Training Solutions), will also deliver the new Career Transition Assistance program effective from today.
Having been appointed by the Department of Social Services to the new panel of Disability Employment Services (DES) Providers, we will now deliver services to help people with disabilities achieve their work and financial goals for the Disability Employment Services (DES) program. The services will include highly-tailored assistance in vocational training, employment preparation, work experience opportunities and job search for eligible participants.
The program will now be delivered to 73 new locations across New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland and South Australia which will deliver a jobs-focused disability employment services across the country.
The expansion of the ParentsNext program now furthers our presence from two current locations in Playford, South Australia, and Bankstown, New South Wales to now cover six Employment Regions and 24 towns and cities across New South Wales, South Australia, and Victoria. The program has been successfully operating in 10 locations across Australia since April 2016 and the Government is investing $263 million in its expansion.
AETS (Australian Employment and Training Solutions) will deliver a new Government initiative across Adelaide and Ballarat for mature aged job seekers. Career Transition Assistance is a new program being piloted by the Department of Jobs and Small Business in five Employment Regions.
CTA targets two key elements - Tailored Career Assistance and Functional Digital Literacy. Individuals will be eligible if they are registered with a jobactive provider within one of the five trial regions, and 50 years of age or older.
