Asuria has been named among Diversity Council Australia (DCA)'s annual list of Inclusive Employers for 2024-2025. To be named on the Inclusive Employers list, organisations administer a survey within their workforce, and must exceed the National Index Benchmark across at least five out of key areas: awareness, engagement, inclusive organisational climate, inclusive leadership, inclusive team, and exclusion.
The Inclusive Employer Index is an annual survey developed by DCA in partnership with Diversity Atlas to measure employee diversity and inclusion experiences in the workplace. Participating in the Index enabled Asuria to evaluate the current state of inclusion in our workforce and compare it to the Australian Workforce and DCA member benchmarks.
Asuria excelled in areas such as ‘Inclusive Leadership’ with 67% of employees rating their managers as fostering diversity, equity and fair treatment - more than double the Australian workforce benchmark of 31%.
Asuria’s organisational inclusivity—it’s commitment to creating a culture where diversity is valued and celebrated—was rated as 74%, compared to the national benchmark of 52%, while 71% of Asuria’s teams were rated as inclusive by employees.
Translating into job satisfaction, performance, and retention, employees within Asuria’s inclusive teams were revealed as 2.9 times more likely to receive constructive feedback they found helpful and 8 times less likely to look for a new job within the next 12 months.
These outstanding results are driven and supported by the diversity of Asuria’s workforce, which features more than double the percentage of First Nations people versus the national average (4.9% of workforce compared to 2.1%), is comprised of 71% women (compared with the national average of 48%) and 14% of people who identify as LGBTIQ+. More than a quarter (26%) of Asuria’s workforce identify as a person with disability, compared to the national workforce average of 9%.
Underlining the role diversity and inclusion plays in business performance, members of Asuria’s inclusive teams were revealed to be more likely to display high performance, in areas across:
Based on industry and academic research, and subject to a process of continual refinement since 2017, The Inclusive Employer Index is compiled by surveying staff from participating organisations on their perceptions of, and experiences with, workplace diversity and inclusion.
