Transition to Work (TtW) participant, Tori, is well on her way towards a bright future after recently completing her Certificate III in Business, thanks to the support of her Asuria Youth Job Coaches.
For Tori, it all began when she decided she wanted to increase her opportunities for employment by getting a qualification under her belt whilst also gaining knowledge of the business industry, which led her to enrol in the short course.
As part of her online studies, Tori took part in group-based learning with the guidance of her Asuria Youth Job Coaches, completing multiple tasks and assessments, in topics including design, and goods and services,
Recognising the fantastic efforts of our TtW participants, our TtW team in Sydney came together to throw a memorable and well-deserved graduation ceremony for Tori and her classmates, who also finished their Certificate III in Business.
For job seeker Tori, however, the graduation was not only a celebration but a testament to her strength and the support she received from Asuria's TtW Youth Job Coaches. "My Youth job coach/coaches were able to support me throughout my course by helping me with any difficulties. They always made sure I was comfortable as I have very bad anxiety," says Tori.
Asuria's Community Engagement Officer and Employer Services Specialist for TtW, Jay Bornstein, says the day summed up what makes Asuria's employment services so unique.
"It's been such a privilege watching this group of young adults develop their confidence. We understand that it takes a lot of courage to try something new, so it's important to recognise their efforts."
"The relationships our participants make with not only their job coaches, but their peers, are fantastic, and it's what makes our program so successful: our students never feel alone," says Jay.
And participant Tori couldn't agree more, saying: "what stood out to me the most about Asuria's services is how caring, patient and lovely every single staff member is."
Since the graduation in June, our participants have ventured off to use their new qualifications to assist them in their job seeking search.
We recently shared the success of graduate, Melissa, who has since found work at Rebels N Misfits, which you can read here.
On behalf of all Asuria, we'd like to give a big congratulations to our recent graduates - we can't wait to see what your future holds!
